Academy Award-nominated actress Kathleen Turner will be in the first episode of Heartstrings called These Old Bones.
The song is taken from Dolly’s 2002 album Halos & Horns and is based on a true story where the young singer visited an old woman, rumoured to be a witch, and told her she was “anointed” – turner will play this woman.
The actress recently appeared in other Netflix series The Kominsky Method starring Michael Douglas.
Speaking to the Los Angeles Times about the country singer, she said: “I have such admiration for this woman and what she’s made of her life.”
Harper Cantrell – Patricia Wettig
Wettig will be taking on a leading role in episode six, Sugar Hill.
Her best-known role was Nancy Weston in the television series Thirtysomething, for which she received a Golden Globe Award and three Primetime Emmy Awards.
The song is about an older woman reminiscing about days gone by where she and her partner went swimming in a millpond together.
