Fallout 76 beta: PS4 release date, How to get code on PlayStation, Test times

While the Fallout 76 beta is about to begin on Xbox One, PS4 users face a much longer wait.

In the UK, the Fallout 76 beta has an October 24 release date on Microsoft’s console. Taking place across multiple sessions, the first test will run from midnight until 4am BST on October 24.

“On any given day the game might be up for anywhere between four to eight hours,” Bethesda explains.

“Focusing as many players as we can into these windows is our prime objective. Then we’ll fix what we need to fix and do it again and again from the start of B.E.T.A. until a few days before launch.”

Unfortunately, however, the PS4 beta doesn’t begin until a week later.

The official starting date is October 30, although if the timings remain the same, then PS4 users in the UK can start playing at midnight on October 31.

To get a code for the Fallout 76 beta on PS4, fans need to pre-order the game first.

Pre-ordering the game from the PlayStation Store will automatically enter you into the beta.

If you pre-order the game from retailers like Amazon or Argos, then you’ll need to visit the Bethesda website to redeem your code.

Once you’ve redeemed your code, you’ll be notified when you can pre-load the game for PS4. There’s no word on the file size, but the Xbox One beta is roughly 45GB.

Because Fallout 76 is an online multiplayer game, pre-order customers will need a PlayStation Plus subscription to play.

In a break from the norm, Bethesda has also confirmed that progress will carry over to the final release.

Unfortunately, however, Trophies won’t be available during the beta, so you may have repeat one or two tasks at launch.

Pre-order customers will also need to download the launch version when the release date rolls around.
