Pokemon Go fans are counting down to the start of the 2018 Halloween event.
And if last year’s event is anything to go by, the Halloween event could begin as early as today (October 19).
The 2017 Halloween event kicked off on Friday, October 20, and ran until November 2.
Last year’s event coincided with the release of Gen 3 Pokemon such as Shuppet, Banette, Sableye, Duskull and Dusclops.
Fans were also treated to a special limited time Pikachu, not to mention bonus Candy from hatching, catching and transferring Pokemon.

The next Halloween event is almost certain to start within the next week, and could feature a range of Gen 4 Pokemon.
You can take a look at the Gen 4 Sinnoh Ghost Pokemon in the gallery below…
Gen 3 Ghost Pokemon include Drifloon, Mismagius, Dusknoir, Froslass, Spiritomb and Drifblim.
Rotom also appears in Gen 4, although this particular Pocket Monster comes in many different forms.
The Ghost and Dragon Legendary Pokemon Giratina could also make an appearance, although this seems unlikely.
Of course, Giratina did appear at the end of the Gen 4 launch trailer (below), so anything is possible.
It’s possible the Pokemon Go Halloween event could take place after this weekend’s Community Day event.
The October Community Day event takes place between 10am and 1pm UK time on October 21.
Beldum takes centre stage during the event, which is good news if you’re yet to capture a Metang or Metagross.
Confirming earlier reports, fans who evolve a Metang into Metagross will learn the exclusive Meteor Mash move.
