Japanese Grand Prix 2017 race results: Hamilton wins, Verstappen second, Vettel retires

Hamilton capitalised on Sebastian Vettel’s engine problems to pick up maximum points in Suzuka, holding off the challenge of the hard-charging Max Verstappen.

The Dutchman’s team-mate Daniel Ricciardo came home third ahead of the Mercedes of Valterri Bottas and Kimi Raikkonen in the sister Ferrari.

There were double-points scores for both Force India and Haas in an , while Carlos Sainz and Nico Hulkenberg were among five non-finishers.
