Arsenal agreed a deal to sell Oxlade-Chamberlain to Chelsea on Tuesday but the England international turned down a move to Stamford Bridge.
The midfielder’s preference was to join Liverpool and he has got his wish after Arsenal decided to cash on the 24-year-old, who has refused to sign a new contract.
Oxlade-Chamberlain will undergo a medical at St George’s Park this evening as he is with the England squad.
It emerged that the deal was imminent when Colossal Sports Management, who represents a host of players including Oxlade-Chamberlain, Raheem Sterling and Saido Berahino tweeted: “DEAL AGREED!!!! #LIVERPOOL #YNWA #COLOSSAL @LFC.”
Liverpool fans quickly jumped on it and reckoned it was confirmation of an agreement for Oxlade-Chamberlain.

But former Manchester United player Gary Neville called the tweet “Embarrassing”.
Oxlade-Chamberlain made 198 appearances for Arsenal in his six years at the club but struggled to make himself indispensable in the starting XI.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger had been desperate to keep hold of Oxlade-Chamberlain but it appears Sunday’s 4-0 defeat to Liverpool will be his last performance for the Gunners.
His arrival continues a busy week for Liverpool after they agreed to sign RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita next summer for £48m.
