The badly decomposed body of television actor Charles Levin was found at the bottom of a remote hill in Oregon, according to police documents obtained by NBC News.
The 70-year-old actor apparently became lost while driving his Fiat on June 28 in Cave Junction, Oregon, eventually leaving his car and falling down a steep slope. Authorities didn’t find his body until July 13, after it had purportedly been partially eaten by vultures and maggots.
The remains of Levin’s pug Boo Boo Bear were found in his abandoned car nearby.
Authorities believe Levin was trying to get home when he got lost on remote backroads, and a coroner ruled his death accidental.
Though he had been retired for 20 years, Levin previously appeared in episodes of TV shows like “Seinfeld,” “The Twilight Zone” and “Alice.”
