Bayern Munich news: Mats Hummels hits back over Carlo Ancelotti sacking

Ancelotti was sacked last Thursday by Bayern in the wake of the 3-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

Hummels was reported to be one of the five players that may have turned on the Italian tactician.

But the German thinks such a suggestion is ludicrous.

“I can’t speak for the others,” Hummels told German paper Sport Bild

“Five players were talked about and I cannot speak for the other four, but I haven’t had a conversation about being unhappy because I wasn’t playing or anything like this.

“To be termed a ‘king slayer’ is out of order.

“I do not know the origins of this information or if it was written because I did not play. I don’t like it, I simply wouldn’t do this.”

Hummels did admit it was strange to no longer see Ancelotti around the place, adding: “It’s the first time I’ve experienced a change in coach during the season.

“It’s a really strange feeling not having him around, but also the four other guys are no longer there.”

Assistant manager Willy Sagnol is now in charge of first-team affairs until Ancelotti’s successor is appointed.

Ancelotti, a three-time Champions League winner, steered Bayern to the Bundesliga title last term.
