Xbox Scarlett game UPDATE: 'Awesome' gameplay experience promised for console launch

Halo Infinite publisher Microsoft has revealed more about the Xbox Scarlett launch title.

In an interesting interview with Game Informer (below), Xbox executive Matt Booty has given fans a taste of what to expect from the upcoming Halo sequel.

Booty promises an awesome Halo experience that captures the essence of the original games while still feeling modern.

“I think the first thing that is just very cool about where that game is headed is how they’re thinking about expanding the world,” Booty explains.

“I won’t go so far as to say sandbox because you bring up sandbox and people sort of overload that term with a lot of other things.

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

“But what the team is doing to build a bigger universe and a bigger set of gameplay scenarios, and just more things to explore, is awesome. And it’s just like the things are working on are really cool.”

Booty would later discuss Halo Infinite’s use of the updated SlipSpace engine, plus the game’s overall design.

“The second thing is just as they bring the SlipSpace engine up to date with where we’re at in terms of graphics these days,” he continues.

“There’s just some cool stuff design wise, it’s been really cool to see them get back to some of the shape language and design language of some of the earlier Halos.

“You know, there could be said that Halo when you get into Halo 5, maybe it was getting a little busy, design wise and it’s cool to just see that.

“At once, Halo Infinite feels more modern and cleaner. But also I think there are stronger echoes back to the roots of Halo. And it’s really cool to see that stuff.”

Halo Infinite was given a holiday 2020 release date during Microsoft’s 2019 E3 conference. It will launch alongside the next-gen Xbox Scarlett console.

“The Master Chief returns in Halo Infinite – the next chapter of the legendary franchise launching holiday 2020 with Project Scarlett,” Microsoft reveals.

“Developed by 343 Industries for Xbox One, Windows 10, and Project Scarlett, Halo Infinite continues the Halo 5: Guardians storyline and takes the franchise in ambitious, unexpected directions.”

Needless to say, Xbox Game Pass subscribers should be able to play the game without having to stump up any extra cash at launch.
