Melania Trump, 47, wife of US President Donald Trump, hosted the event on Friday to harvest and replant the vegetable garden Michelle Obama rooted in the South Lawn during husband Barack Obama’s term in office.
The former First Lady’s expansive kitchen garden became an internationally recognised symbol of local food, and was part of the Obama administration’s push to promote healthy eating.
According to Politico, Melania said today: “I’m a big believer in healthy eating because it reflects on your mind and your body.
“I encourage you to continue to eat a lot of vegetables and fruits, so you grow up healthy and take care of yourself.”
Melania wore a a red lumberjack shirt for the occasion with the sleeves pushed up.

As well as harvesting lettuce, kale, peas and radishes, the group planted cabbage, cauliflower, turnips, carrots and spinach, according to the White House.
Just two days earlier, Melania came under fire for an outfit she wore during a lunch at the UN.
The First Lady addressed the spouses of world leaders on Wednesday and ensured all eyes were firmly on her in her outfit choice.
She wore a bright pink £2,100 wool coat dress created by Spanish fashion designer Delpozo.
Melania teamed the garish jacket with six inch stiletto court shoes.
The collarless coat dress featured large puffed three-quarter length sleeves, giving it a very directional edge.
