
Fortnite Battle Royale is offline as part of update 5.4.
Epic Games announced the downtime on Twitter, telling players that patch notes are available while maintenance is performed.
“Downtime has started for patch v5.40. Jump into the patch notes for more info on our High Stakes event and more!” reads an Epic tweet.
The game will return later this morning, complete with the brand new High Stakes event. Expect it to come back online at around 11am.
The High Stakes event launches alongside the Getaway limited time mode (LTM).

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.
In the Getaway, four safes are scattered around the map, each containing different jewels. Players must extract the contents of the safes and deposit them without dying.
The High Stakes event launches alongside a selection of challenges and rewards.
This includes a new spray, money trail and XP. There’s even a special crowbar harvesting tool for completing all three.
