You Season 5: Charlotte Ritchie Teases “Thrilling” Conclusion to Hit Netflix Series

Actress Charlotte Ritchie has described the upcoming final season of the popular psychological thriller You as “thrilling,” suggesting the Netflix show’s culmination will captivate viewers. Anticipation builds as the fifth and final installment of the acclaimed series prepares to premiere this month.

Ritchie Discusses Series Finale on Saturday Kitchen

During an appearance on BBC One’s Saturday Kitchen on April 19, Ritchie shared her insights on the highly anticipated series finale. Host Matt Tebbutt characterized the show’s conclusion as a “Thrilling conclusion to You.”

Responding to Tebbutt, Ritchie stated, “Fingers crossed, yeah, I don’t think people will be bored. It is thrilling. It’s dark. People seem to really like that. It is really thrilling and quite exciting because I know how it ends.”

She further commented on fan anticipation, “If you’re a fan of the show, it’s quite a hot topic so I feel like I’m powered and it’s a little bit stressful because I’m not always that discrete so I won’t be talking about it on the show.”

Joe Goldberg Returns to New York in Final Season

The tormented protagonist Joe Goldberg, portrayed by Penn Badgley, makes a return to New York City. This homecoming marks a significant turning point after his previous exploits in California and the United Kingdom, bringing the narrative full circle.

An enticing preview of the forthcoming final season hints, “Joe returns to New York to enjoy his happily ever after with Kate Galvin (Charlotte Ritchie), who’s somewhat aware of his dark actions.”

Past Haunts Joe as Final Chapter Unfolds

However, the storyline is poised to intensify, as the synopsis reveals: “However, it seems that the power couple’s picture-perfect life won’t last long as Joe’s present is threatened by ghosts from his own past and his evil impulses.”

Coinciding with the release date announcement, Netflix also released a teaser trailer. The trailer features Joe reflecting on his time at Mooney’s, the antique bookstore where he was employed during the show’s first season.

Notably, the basement of Mooney’s concealed a glass cage, infamously used by Joe for his kidnappings.

Will the Cage Return in You Season 5?

Speculation is rife about the potential return of this infamous cage in the fifth season. The teaser’s concluding scene subtly suggests Joe might become entrapped within it himself this time.

Tati Gabrielle, reprising her role as Marienne Bellamy—Joe’s obsession in seasons three and four—is confirmed to be part of the cast for the concluding season.

You Season 5 Release Date

  • You season 5 will be available for streaming on Netflix from April 24.
