Colin Kaepernick turned down Broncos offer
Kaepernick remains a free agent having not played since the 2016 season and the Denver Broncos have ruled themselves out of making a move, claiming he missed his chance two years ago.
The 30-year-old was the first player to kneel during the national anthem before a game to protest the police brutality and racism issues has since struggled to return to the league.
His actions have polarised fans and NFL owners with many praising his protest while others have condemned Kaepernick for “disrespecting the American flag”.
He still remains an option for NFL teams willing to take a chance but Broncos general manager insists Kaepernick missed his chance to join Denver.
“Colin had his chance to be here,” Elway said.

“We offered him a contract. He didn’t take it.
“So, as I said it in my deposition (for Kaepernick’s collusion grievance against the NFL) – and I don’t know if I’m legally able to say this – but he’s had his chance to be here. He passed it.”
New England Patriots suffer injury blow
The New England Patriots will be sweating over the fitness of first-round pick Isaiah Wynn after he was carted off in their pre-season friendly against the Philadelphia Eagles last night.
Wynn was drafted by the Patriots to fill gap left by Nate Solder’s departure in free agency.
But New England will now have to assess Wynn’s fitness after leaving the field on a cart following an inspection on a left leg injury in the medical tent.
Wynn isn’t expected to be a starter for New England come the start of the season next month, but a long-term injury could cause major problems for Bill Belichick’s depth.
Philadelphia Eagles troll Patriots over Super Bowl
The pre-season friendly between the Eagles and Patriots was a repeat of the 2018 Super Bowl and the reigning champions took an opportunity to troll Tom Brady and Co. on social media.
While the only focus from teams in pre-season is to build up their match fitness, the Eagles still wanted to give New England a gentle reminder of what happened the last time the two met.
Philadelphia’s Twitter account shared what, at first glance, appeared to be a mundane shot of their locker room, focussing on two slots.
But fans quickly picked up on the numbers of the two players being 41 and 33 – the score Philadelphia beat New England by in the Super Bowl.
