The aftershock measured 5.9 on the Richter scale, and was felt strongly on the island.
It sent people into the streets in panic and caused buildings to collapse.
The quake hit at 12.25pm local time on Thursday (6.25am BST).
According to Indonesia’s meteorology agency, the epicentre of the quake was six kilometres northwest of the island with a depth of 12 metres.
The centre of the quake was not far from where the initial quake struck on Sunday.

Lombok had already been hit by a 6.4 quake on July 29 which killed 17 people and briefly stranded several hundred trekkers on the slopes of the volcano.
