Pennsylvania Man Arraigned Following Governor’s Mansion Firebombing
HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania – A Pennsylvania man, identified as Cody Balmer, 38, made a peculiar display as he arrived at a Harrisburg courthouse for his arraignment on Monday, facing charges related to the firebombing of the governor’s mansion. The incident, involving Molotov cocktails, has resulted in multiple felony charges against Balmer.
Defendant’s Bizarre Court Appearance
Balmer reportedly stuck out his tongue and crossed his eyes as Pennsylvania State Troopers escorted him into the Dauphin County courthouse. He was shackled at both his hands and ankles during the procession.
Visibly disheveled with an unkempt beard and gaunt appearance, Balmer seemed to have trouble holding up his belt-less trousers. He was also observed breathing heavily as he sat in the defendant’s chair, awaiting the judge.
Details of the Alleged Arson Attack
Balmer is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated arson, and burglary. These charges stem from accusations that he broke into Governor Josh Shapiro’s Harrisburg residence in the early hours of Sunday. He allegedly hurled multiple Molotov cocktails within the home, specifically targeting the piano room.
