Further snowfall is anticipated, with accumulations of 1 to 3 inches possible across sections of Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Maine. This fresh snow may create slick roadways and reduce visibility, particularly in higher elevations.
Significant Snowfall Already Recorded
As of 11 a.m. ET, substantial snowfall totals have already been recorded in some locations. Princeton, Massachusetts, reported the highest accumulation with 9 inches of snow. Austerlitz, New York, experienced 5.8 inches, while both Twin Lakes, Pennsylvania, and High Point, New Jersey, registered 5 inches of wintry precipitation.
Power Disruptions Reported
Snowfall was observed in the Catskills and Albany regions early Saturday. As of 1:30 p.m. E.T., reports indicate that over 2,300 utility customers in New York are currently without power, according to PowerOutage.us. The ongoing weather system may lead to additional power disruptions throughout the day.
Below Normal Temperatures Expected
Temperatures in the Northeast are also experiencing a dip, falling 10 to 20 degrees below the seasonal average on Saturday. However, forecasters predict a return to typical seasonal high temperatures by Sunday.
