Fifty Shades Freed set for WORST box office opening of trilogy

The final film in the Fifty Shades trilogy is released in cinemas this weekend and things are not good.

According to Box Office Pro, Fifty Shades Freed is set to make just $39 million at the US box office, during its domestic opening.

This is less than half of what Fifty Shades of Grey made during its opening in 2015, while last year’s Fifty Shades Darker earned $46.6 million.

Meanwhile the trilogy will actually pass $1 billion at the worldwide box office today.

According to Deadline, Fifty Shade Freed made $25 million overseas for its opening day, in a figure that includes previews from Wednesday evening.
