Pokemon Go Kyogre Raids launch is good, this new Niantic update news is even better

It’s now been confirmed that the Pokemon Go Kyogre Raids launch will be followed by another special Pokemon update.

Revealed by Niantic this week, Trainers will soon get the chance to try their skills at new mini events being held.

Dubbing them “Community Days,” fans will get the chance to catch Special Pokemon and use bonuses to help level up, or improve their existing team.

Much like we see with existing weekly events, the new Community Days will add a bit of excitement to Pokemon Go.

And with them being planned for every month in 2018, it appears there’ll be plenty more to look forward to this year.

“Once a month, we’ll host a Pokémon GO Community Day event starring a special Pokémon, which will appear frequently around the world for just a few hours,” a message from Niantic explains.

“When caught during the event, this special Pokémon will know an exclusive move. Other bonuses will be in effect during the event, such as increased XP or Stardust, and Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.”

So while the new Pokemon Go Kyogre Raids are set to end on February 14, these new Community Days will keep going for the rest of 2018.

The first Pokemon Go Community Day will take place on January 20, 2018, and will feature Pikachu as the Pocket Monster boasting the special move, Surf.

Niantic have confirmed that double XP will be available during event hours, with different times confirmed for each game region.

There will also be three-hour lures activated, which will likely boost the chances of catching a special Pikachu.

Event hours for each region includes:

  • The Asia-Pacific region: January 20, 2018, from 12:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. JST (GMT +9)
  • Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India: January 20, 2018, from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. UTC (GMT +0)
  • The Americas and Greenland: January 20, 2018, from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. PST (GMT -8)

It will certainly create something new for fans to do and something worth looking forward to each month.

The idea of grabbing a Pokemon with a special adds something new to the game and means fans won’t just be repeating stuff they’ve done in the past.

Events are known to help boost player interaction with the game, with the recent festive event proving popular with fans.

Apple recently revealed that its App Store made $890 million in revenue, the week beginning Christmas Eve.

Pokemon Go returned to the top of the charts on December 21st, with the game also jumping on the Google Playstore, from 17th to 2nd top grossing app in the USA.
