The animals were blasted with a gun at Djouce golf club in Wicklow near Dublin after they were hired for its annual Christmas celebration.
One distraught staff member came to work and found the blood-drenched “Santa’s Journey” pen empty.
One bullet was discovered lodged in a tree and the police were called in.
The Irish Gardai are investigating the incident as a theft and think a group of poachers are responsible.
It is believed the reindeer may have been shot from long range from a nearby road before their lifeless bodies were hauled away.

Peter Cullen, who reared the animals before renting them to the golf club, said he was shocked by the “disgusting” slaying.
He said: “It was just shoddy behaviour.
“Apart from it being illegal to shoot at night and to shoot from the road, to fire four shots across a flat golf course is just dangerous.
“Who knows where a bullet is going to go.”
Children have been told the reindeer are resting and a new animal has been donated by a neighbour.
Mr Cullen said each animal was worth around £44 to butchers who would slice them up for their meat.
A police spokesman confirmed they were investigating the incident, which took place on December 15.
He said: “Gardaí are investigating an incident in which three deer were stolen between December 15-16 in Ballinastoe, Roundwood, Co Wicklow.
“No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.”
