Pokemon Go news: Niantic’s big new update for Raid fans

Having launched more than a year ago, Pokemon Go news from the past few months has proven that the popular mobile game is still very much a work-in-progress.

Raids are the newest feature which allow players to band together and take down tough Pokemon in large boss battles.

And while far from perfect, the essence of gameplay appears to have been nailed down.

But for a game that relies so heavily on players coming together to tackle the biggest challenges, it doesn’t really provide much in terms of support.

Clans would be a perfect addition to the game, which now has a clear group of hardcore players.

vCard QR Code

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

But while Trainers outside of major population hubs have been left to lament over their situation when it comes to tackling Raids, it appears Niantic have been listening.

According to the team at the Pokemon Go Hub, a new Pokemon Go update could be in the works to provide more Raid support.

They’ve compiled a list of instances in which members of the Niantic support team have referenced as much, some of which can be found below.

NianticGeorge reddit comments: “I would bet that with time we’ll see near parity between rural and urban players.

“As for difficulties finding a raid team in rural areas, we’re working on that too (but we’re not ready to announce anything just yet).”

Followup to the earlier point: “At the end of my comments, I mentioned that we are working on mechanisms to make it easier for players to come together for Raid Battles.”

The PoGo Hub themselves have interviewed members of the Niantic team, with product manager, Tatsuo Nomura, saying something similar on the subject.

“We are also aware of the coordination issue and have some ideas of how to improve it,” he told PoGo Hub.

“We are not ready to announce anything at the moment, but improving Raid playability is our major priority right now.”

This would suggest that a possible Pokemon Go Chat system could be revealed in the future, or perhaps something that would allows players to communicate.

Being able to cordinate with others in the surrounding area would be a major gamechanger but could also open Pokemon Go up to other issues.

And whatever is announced in the future, you can expect it to be just the framework of something much bigger that will slowly be built through the coming months.
