The Canary Islands government announced on Saturday that a pre-alert for strong winds was in effect across all islands from 4 PM local time.
“This decision is based on information from the State Meteorological Agency and other sources, and is in accordance with the Specific Emergency Plan for the Canary Islands due to the Risk of Adverse Meteorological Phenomena (PEFMA),” officials stated.

- Tenerife (Coast of Buenavista del Norte, San Miguel, Granadilla, Arico, de Fasnia, and Güímar)
- Gran Canaria (Cumbres, and coast of Gáldar, Agaete, Artenara, La Aldea, San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Santa Lucía de Tirajana, Agüimes, Ingenio and Telde)
Wind Strength and Forecast
Authorities further indicated the likelihood of moderate to strong north-easterly winds, accompanied by strong to very strong gusts.
It was also mentioned that wind gusts could occasionally exceed 43mph, with average wind speeds anticipated to fluctuate between approximately 19mph and 31mph.
