Subaru Solterra Electric SUV Receives Performance and Feature Upgrades
The updated Subaru Solterra electric SUV now features a standard symmetrical all-wheel drive (AWD) system. This advanced AWD system allows the front and rear electric motors to operate independently, providing enhanced control across diverse weather conditions and terrains. Furthermore, the powertrain delivers increased power, with the standard model producing up to 233 horsepower. For drivers seeking even greater performance, the high-performance XT variant boosts output to 338 horsepower, achieving zero to 60 mph acceleration in under five seconds.
Exterior and Interior Design Enhancements
Visually, the Solterra presents a more sophisticated aesthetic with a redesigned, flatter front bumper and newly styled headlights. An illuminated front logo further contributes to the vehicle’s refined appearance compared to its predecessor. Inside the cabin, occupants will appreciate significant upgrades, including a larger 14-inch infotainment touchscreen for improved user interface and navigation. Convenience is further enhanced by the inclusion of dual 15W wireless smartphone charging pads and USB-C ports for faster device charging.
Extended Range and Faster Charging
A notable improvement in the latest Solterra is its enhanced battery capability. The SUV is now equipped with a 74.7kWh battery pack, significantly increasing the EPA-estimated driving range to 285 miles on a single full charge. This represents a substantial increase from the previous model’s 227-mile range. Charging times have also been optimized; using a 150kW DC fast charger, the Solterra can replenish its battery from 10 percent to 80 percent capacity in under 35 minutes.
NACS Charging Port and Supercharger Network Access
Adding to charging convenience, the 2025 Solterra incorporates the now-industry-standard NACS (North American Charging Standard) charging port. This significant update will grant Solterra owners access to the extensive Tesla Supercharger network in North America. Later this year, Solterra drivers will be able to utilize over 15,000 Tesla Supercharger locations, vastly expanding public charging options.
