To commemorate this achievement, ArenaNet has released a new content update, granting access to previously exclusive promotional items from the game’s early years. ArenaNet announced that the latest Guild Wars content update introduces promotional items formerly “only obtainable as pre-order and territorial bonuses from the mid-2000s.” This decision makes these items accessible to all players, moving away from the initial exclusivity tied to early adoption. While acknowledging the desire of some players to retain exclusive “day-one” items, ArenaNet suggests that after two decades, sharing these items enhances the anniversary celebration.

- Rare Drops: These promotional items will be available as rare drops from high-level enemies, requiring dedicated gameplay to acquire.
- Limited-Time Miniatures: For players seeking easier access to celebratory items, a selection of limited-release, non-tradeable miniatures can be obtained from Merrise in Embark Beach until May 6.
Weapon Upgrades and Visual Enhancements
The update also introduces new upgrades for main-hand weapons, appearing as rare drops. These “of the Profession” modifiers enhance the primary attribute of the named profession, potentially raising it to level 5, even if a character would not normally have access to that level. This feature unlocks new character build possibilities for established players. Furthermore, weapons with these modifiers will feature distinctive glowing streaks when wielded, adding a visual flair.
Guild Wars 20th Anniversary Masterpiece Collection
For players seeking comprehensive access to the game, the Guild Wars 20th Anniversary Masterpiece Collection represents a definitive offering. This collection includes all previously released Guild Wars campaigns: Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall, along with the Eye of the North expansion and the Bonus Mission Pack. Additionally, it features bonus items, weapons, a combat ally, and eight character slots for new accounts. Currently, it is available for $8, marking an 80% discount from its regular price and touted by ArenaNet as “the biggest discount in Guild Wars’ history.”
