Florida Man Arrested After Allegedly Throwing Urine at Store, Employee

In an unusual incident involving workplace frustration and alleged criminal activity, a Florida man faces charges after reportedly attacking a business with bottles of urine. The suspect, denied a job interview, is accused of targeting a molding supplier store and striking an employee with the offensive liquid.

John Connaughton, 51, was taken into custody for allegedly throwing containers of urine inside a store and at a staff member.

Urine Attack Causes Damage and Mayhem

John Connaughton, 51, a registered sex offender, allegedly caused over $1,000 in damages at Doors, Moulding & More in St. Petersburg following his outburst. According to a Pinellas County affidavit, the man was reportedly enraged after being refused an opportunity to interview at the establishment.

Court documents detail that Connaughton purportedly hurled multiple bottles filled with his own urine through the storefront entrance. He is further accused of spreading the contents throughout the interior of the store, including onto merchandise.

Job Interview Rejection Leads to Alleged Felony

Connaughton, who has a history of criminal offenses including indecent exposure, was apparently angered by the company’s decision not to grant him an interview.

Connaughton has a significant criminal record, including sex offenses.

Employee Targeted in Urine Assault

The situation escalated when an employee reportedly became the direct target of Connaughton’s actions, with urine allegedly splashing onto their exposed legs.

Skateboard Threat and Apprehension

After the alleged assault, Connaughton fled the scene on foot, but was pursued by the employee. During the chase, Connaughton reportedly brandished a skateboard, raising it in a threatening manner as if to strike the pursuing victim, as stated in the affidavit.

Authorities eventually apprehended Connaughton, and he now faces charges including felony battery, criminal mischief, and aggravated assault.

The employee pursued Connaughton after the urine was allegedly thrown on their legs.

Series of Unruly Urination Incidents

This incident is part of a pattern of bizarre public urination cases. Earlier this year, in Oregon, an unidentified individual repeatedly deposited gallon jugs of urine throughout a residential neighborhood. Residents pleaded for the perpetrator to cease the activity, and one individual even attempted to locate the source of the neighborhood nuisance.
