Teen Fatally Shot at Queens Bodega: Heartbreaking Video Surfaces
A heartbreaking video has emerged capturing the tragic fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy in the doorway of a Queens bodega. The incident, which resulted in the death of the teenager, prompted an emotional plea for justice from his grieving father. The deadly violence unfolded in Jamaica, Queens, highlighting ongoing concerns about youth violence in the city.
Details of the Fatal Shooting on Liberty Avenue
Sincere Jazmin, 16, was fatally wounded in the chest during a confrontation with a masked assailant. Investigators believe the altercation, possibly stemming from a school-related dispute, occurred shortly after Jazmin alighted from a Q83 bus on Liberty Avenue near 172nd Street in Jamaica. The shooting took place around 2:40 p.m. on Wednesday, according to police reports.
“Sincere was a good kid – a genuinely good kid,” stated Terrell Kanston, Sincere’s father, to The Post on Thursday morning. Visibly emotional, Kanston spoke across the street from the C.Y. Deli Grocery, the location where his son collapsed. “He only wanted to show kindness to everyone. This is simply heartbreaking.”
“They will face the consequences of their actions,” Kanston asserted, referring to the perpetrator. “I demand justice.”
Video Footage Reveals Teenager’s Final Moments
Footage obtained by The Post from inside the store depicts the moments after the injured high school student, wearing a backpack, apparently stumbled across the street following the shooting. He is seen sitting down on a step in front of the corner store.

Several seconds elapse as the ailing teenager, visible from behind, sits outside the bodega, initially unnoticed by passersby.
Deliveryman Discovers Injured Teenager
Sincere then collapses in the doorway of the store, attracting the attention of a beer deliveryman who had departed moments before the teen’s arrival.
“My delivery man informed me about the boy outside,” recounted store manager Kenny Patel, who remained behind the counter during the distressing scene, in a statement to The Post on Thursday morning. “He was clutching his chest. He asked him twice, ‘What happened? What happened?’ But he received no response.”
The video shows the critically wounded boy attempting unsuccessfully to sit up before collapsing again, sprawled out as the delivery worker appears to examine under his shirt for signs of injury.
“He was holding his chest,” Patel reiterated, mentioning the absence of visible bleeding. “The door was open, and he fell halfway inside.”
“He tried to rise, but he was unable to,” the manager continued. “His eyes were closed. My delivery worker then contacted 911.”
Shortly after, another man and a woman, seemingly customers, joined the gathering around Sincere.
Responding officers swiftly arrived at the scene and rendered aid to the unconscious teenager.
Community Grief and Call for Justice
Emergency medical personnel transported Sincere to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where attempts to revive him were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead.
Grieving Father Visits the Scene
The boy’s devastated father visited the deli on Thursday morning, where he shook hands with Patel.
“I am his father. Thank you,” Kanston expressed, tears streaming down his face.
“I am so sorry,” Patel responded.
Kanston emphasized that his deceased son, a student at John Adams High School in Ozone Park, “only aspired to be his best.”
“I have a daughter as well, but he was the elder sibling. The entire family is deeply affected.”
Kanston then stood briefly outside the store, looking across the street towards the bus stop where the fatal violence erupted, before entering his car, pausing for a moment, and driving away.
“I simply came to see the location where it happened. I am in pain. Words fail me at this moment,” Kanston explained as he wiped away tears.
No Arrests Made, Suspect Description Released
