Deadly Shooting at Las Cruces Park
A shooting in Las Cruces, New Mexico, late Friday resulted in three fatalities and injuries to 14 others, authorities reported.
Incident Details and Victim Information
The Las Cruces Police Department (LCPD) stated that the incident occurred at approximately 10 p.m. at Young Park, situated over 200 miles south of Albuquerque. The deceased victims included a 16-year-old male and two 19-year-old males.
According to a police statement, the injured individuals range in age from 16 to 36 years old. Police indicated that victim identities are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Circumstances Under Investigation
The LCPD has not yet disclosed details regarding the circumstances preceding the shooting. Social media footage captured audio of numerous shots fired during the incident.
Ongoing Investigation
As of Saturday morning, no arrests have been made related to the shooting; however, law enforcement is pursuing “multiple leads,” officials confirmed.

Mayor Condemns Violence
Las Cruces Mayor Eric Enriquez described the shooting as a “heinous act of violence” and expressed that the city would be in mourning. In a statement on Instagram, Mayor Enriquez conveyed his condolences, stating, “my heart is broken for the victims and families impacted.”

Young Park and surrounding roads remain temporarily closed to facilitate the ongoing investigation, police announced.
