YouTuber Drives Miniature Ibishu Pigeon, Survives Ordeal
Automotive YouTubers sometimes prioritize content creation over personal safety, as demonstrated by a content creator who piloted a “real” Ibishu Pigeon and remarkably survived. The video raises questions about potential long-term neurological effects for the driver.
Understanding the Ibishu Pigeon: A Unique Vehicle
Three-wheeled trucks, often seen around the Pacific Rim, are known for their unusual design. However, the Ibishu Pigeon may represent the most precarious of these vehicles. This diminutive and inherently unstable pickup, constructed with a body-on-frame design, weighs only a few hundred pounds, leading some to consider it a hazardous vehicle.
Features of the Standard Pigeon
The standard Pigeon is a Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) vehicle equipped with a 550cc inline-three engine situated between the seats. It also utilizes a belt-driven system for front wheel steering.

The Miniature Ibishu Pigeon: Increased Instability
This custom Ibishu Pigeon is significantly smaller than the standard model, standing at a mere 85 centimeters (approximately 33.5 inches) tall. Furthermore, its engine is positioned behind the driver, rather than centrally located, which exacerbates its instability.
Distinctive Design and Construction
Due to its small dimensions, the mini Pigeon accommodates only a single seat. Handlebars, unlike those found on motorcycles, are used for steering. Notably, the vehicle’s body and interior are fabricated entirely from repurposed Castrol oil barrels.
Hand-Built with Questionable Elements
The builder utilized a Honda Gyro, a JDM three-wheeled moped, as the foundation for this creation, fashioning the body around its existing mechanics. Instead of conventional brakes, it relies on a rudimentary hand brake. Unlatched doors and other dubious construction choices further contribute to its unconventional and potentially unsafe nature.
The creator appears to have a penchant for constructing potentially dangerous vehicles. Whether this reflects ingenuity, a sense of sadism, or a combination of both remains open to interpretation.
