Viewers of the popular ITV drama, Protection, are convinced that young Amy is harbouring a significant secret after noticing a major discrepancy in the case. The gripping series returned to our screens on Monday (March 17) night, delving into the murky world of crime and corruption through the lens of an experienced witness protection officer.
The narrative is driven by Siobhan Finneran’s character, DI Liz Nyles, who finds herself on high alert following a warning from DS Paul Brandice to trust no one. Complicating matters further, Amy, the sole potential witness to her family’s attack, is now in grave danger but appears reluctant to share any information.
During her police interview, officers attempted to extract as much information as possible from Amy to aid their investigation, but she insisted she saw nothing.
On their return journey from the police station, Liz’s car is pursued by another vehicle, presumably containing a hitman. In a heart-stopping chase sequence, Liz and Amy are forced to halt their escape attempt.
They succeed in getting Amy to safety, but the identity of the pursuing individual remains unknown, reports the Mirror.

The situation worsens for Liz when her daughter returns home from her father’s house to discover Amy staying in her bedroom.
Liz’s daughter is far from pleased with someone commandeering her room in her absence, thrusting Liz into an uncomfortable mothering role with Amy. This shift comes at a cost as she inadvertently sidelines her biological child.
The plot thickens as the episode concludes with Amy covertly texting someone – igniting suspicions among fans that she harbours a significant secret and might be withholding the truth from authorities.
Speculation is rife on social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, where inconsistencies in Amy’s story are being scrutinised.
