David Jason fans were shocked to discover that the actor has a famous sibling. The 85-year-old actor, best known for his role as the charming market stall trader from Peckham in Only Fools and Horses, is not the only performer in his family. His older brother, Arthur White, 91, has also had a successful acting career, even sharing the screen with David on several occasions. Arthur starred alongside David as PC Ernie Trigg in the ITV detective drama A Touch of Frost, where David played the lead role.
He also made brief appearances in two episodes of The Darling Buds of May in 1991 and worked with David again in 2008 on the comic fantasy The Colour of Magic. Arthur also shared the screen with Nicholas Lyndhurst, who played Rodney Trotter, Del’s younger brother in Only Fools and Horses, in Goodnight Sweetheart. From 1995 to 2001, Arthur was a regular on the ITV series London’s Burning, playing Derek. He later appeared in Heartbeat as Albert Fogerty and made an appearance in Holby City in 2016 as Sidney Bickton.
His other television credits include Doctors, Family Affairs, Grange Hill, The Professionals, and many more roles dating back to the 1950s according to the Mirror.
Arthur recently appeared in the documentary 13 Hours That Saved Britain, which gives viewers an in-depth look at the events of the Battle of Britain.
Despite his roles in other major shows such as Open All Hours and A Touch of Frost, Arthur’s brother David will forever be associated with Only Fools and Horses.

During a frank discussion on BBC Breakfast with host Jon Kay in October, David admitted that he felt his portrayal of Del had eclipsed his other work.
Reflecting on his role, he revealed his “only regret” about Only Fools and Horses is feeling haunted by the character, much like A Christmas Carol.
Jon noted: “That sense of positivity sounds very like a certain Derek Trotter.”
To which David responded: “Yeah, I’m afraid it does. That Derek Trotter thing, he’s a bit of a ghost that comes along behind me like A Christmas Carol.”
David expressed slight annoyance that despite his diverse career, most people remember him solely for his portrayal of Trotter, saying: “[It] only hangs me back, only upsets me slightly is because that seems to be the only thing that people remember me for.”
