PS Plus August 2023 free PS5 and PS4 games reveal coming sooner than expected

There’s great news for PlayStation Plus subscribers, as the Essentials line-up is about to be revealed by Sony. Due to the way the days fall, the next batch of PS Plus Essentials will be announced much sooner than expected. The free PS4 and PS5 games will be officially unveiled at 4.30pm BST UK time on the afternoon of July 25. The games will be available to download and play less than a week later on the morning of August 1. With the line-up coming soon, Daily Express will post its predictions in the coming days.

The only bad news is that the imminent release of the PS Plus line-up means you don’t have long to nab the PS4 and PS5 games for July 2023.

The July line-up consists of high-profile blockbusters like Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Alan Wake Remastered, as well as indie hits like Endling – Extinction is Forever.

The latter is a stylish side-scrolling platform game with beautiful 3D visuals and a compelling story.

Players take control of an endangered fox who must guide her cubs to safety, while protecting them from human and animal predators.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War, on the other hand, is one of the highest-profile free games to join the service in 2023.

The popular Call of Duty release features an entertaining campaign mode, as well as a wide variety of multiplayer maps, modes and experience.

There’s also the fan favourite Zombies mode, which sees players team up to battle hordes of the undead.

Sony explains more: “Black Ops Cold War drops fans into the depths of the Cold War’s volatile geopolitical battle of the early 1980s.

“Come face-to-face with historical figures and hard truths as you battle around the globe in iconic locales like East Berlin, Vietnam, Turkey, Soviet KGB headquarters and more.”

Horror shooter Alan Wake Remastered is the third and final game for July 2023. Launching ahead of this year’s sequel, Alan Wake Remastered features improved visuals, as well as new gameplay features.

“Troubled author Alan Wake embarks on a desperate search for his missing wife, Alice,” reads the official description.

“Following her mysterious disappearance from the Pacific Northwest town of Bright Falls, he discovers pages of a horror story he has supposedly written, but he has no memory of.

“Wake is soon forced to question his sanity, as page by page, the story comes true before his eyes: a hostile presence of supernatural darkness is taking over everyone it finds, turning them against him.”
