Tom Brady has revealed he plans to keep up his notoriously strict NFL diet, even though he has retired from football for good.

The 45-year-old seven-time Super Bowl winner steers clear of a wide range of food products. Some, like alcohol, sugar and caffeine are perhaps unsurprising given he stayed at the top level of the NFL well into his mid-40s.

He retired in February – this time, he insisted, for good – but Brady won’t be found enjoying a beer when the 2023 season comes around.

‘I don’t think it’s a strict regimen,’ he told People. ‘I think it’s just trying to make healthy choices that allow me to live the life I want to live.

‘I think what I put in my body is very important. My body was my asset. It’s a little different now.

‘I’ve developed so many healthy habits, I just want to stick with them.’

As for the strawberries, Brady added he doesn’t avoid them on any health ground but instead because: ‘I just didn’t like the taste.’

Brady’s final NFL season at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was overshadowed by his off-field woes that saw him divorce from his supermodel wife of 13 years, Gisele Bundchen.

He has been subject to speculation about unretiring once again ahead of the 2023 NFL season. At times, he hasn’t shot down the talk right away but once joked he couldn’t return to the NFL because he’d bought his daughter a kitten.

Brady is currently finalizing the process of buying a small stake in the Las Vegas Raiders.

Speaking last month, Brady said he will has a passive role with the organization.
