Arsenal’s focus on youth over the summer transfer window has finally started to pay off with the Gunners currently occupying fourth in the Premier League for the first time since 2019. And it appears that manager Mikel Arteta’s spending isn’t done there, with the manager wanting to do so again in January to boost his trophy chances.
The Gunners spent a total of £150million in the summer on Ben White, Martin Odegaard, Aaron Ramsdale, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares.
The north London outfit were rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table at the end of August with their new stars failing.
Ramsdale and Tavares weren’t playing, leading to many suggesting the club had wasted their money and there were calls for Arteta’s head.
Yet a revitalisation in form with 10 wins from 15 matches has seen the Gunners climb from 20th to fourth.

The Gunners travel to Norwich on Sunday in a bid to put more pressure on third-placed Chelsea, who sit six points ahead of them at the halfway stage of the season.
The Canaries have won just two games all season, scoring just eight goals in 17 games.
And Arsenal will know how to defeat them after they won 1-0 in the return fixture in September to climb off the bottom of the table.
