Lady Gaga revealed that she actually wore a bulletproof dress to sing at President Joe Biden’s inauguration on January 20, 2020.
The 35-year-old superstar opened up about taking the extra fashion precaution in an interview with British Vogue where she spoke about the ‘fear’ she felt when Donald Trump was president.
Calling her performance at the 59th presidential inauguration ‘one of the proudest days of my whole life,’ she revealed the stunning navy and red dress she wore fashioned by Schiaparelli was ironclad.

The House of Gucci star opened up about the career high of singing at the inauguration of the 46th President of the United States before very casually mentioning her bulletproof dress.
‘That has to be one of the proudest days of my whole life. Like many people in America, I felt a deep fear when Trump was president, and ushering 45 out and 46 in is something I’ll be able to tell my children all about.
‘Singing in a Schiaparelli bulletproof dress. I don’t know if people know this about me, but if I weren’t who I am today, I would have been a combat journalist. That was one of my dreams,’ she continued to say.
‘When I was at the Capitol, the day before the inauguration, I remember walking around and looking for evidence of the insurrection,’ the Poker Face singer added of the capitol riots on January 6.

Of course security was an at all-time high amid the state of political unrest, with federal law enforcement agencies and secret service launching a security mobilization that was the first of its kind in US history.
The U.S. Capitol and other federal buildings in Washington, DC were backed by 15,000 national guard troops, as well as thousands of police.
Prior to being granted the honor of performing alongside the likes of Jennifer Lopez at the inauguration, she had aggressively campaigned for Biden and he had even introduced her at the 2016 Academy Awards.
