Carol Smillie approached Changing Rooms host Anna Richardson after knock back from show

Back in September, The Mirror reported that the new Changing Rooms had been axed after just one series.

A source said the show “hasn’t caught on” despite its resounding success on the BBC in the 90s.

They added: “Channel 4 will be wondering what has gone wrong. A lot was put into it but it doesn’t seem to have caught on.”

A spokesperson for the show told The Metro: “It is far too early to have conversations about commissions however the show continues to be a hit, regularly securing over a million viewers.”
