Benson, in the past, has struggled in her relationships, particularly with former detective Brian Cassidy (Dean Winters).
Upon seeing Benson again and discussing their failed relationship, Cassidy said to her: “You and I had a lot of good times together, a lot of mutual love and respect for one another, but please you’ve got to admit to me that you were never going to bare your soul to me.”
Benson is hesitant to answer but, knowing that he is right, confirms his suspicions.
Now that Benson has opened herself up to Stabler once again, and is unafraid to console him and hold his hand, does this mean that she is finally ready for a relationship?
The majority of viewers certainly think so but audiences will have to wait to see what transpires between the two in season 23.
