REVEALED: The 22,500 supporters at England’s Euro 2020 matches can use vaccine passports for the first time to gain entry to Wembley
Fans attending England’s Euro 2020 group matches against Croatia, Scotland and the Czech Republic will have to use vaccine passports.
It will be the first time that a sporting event in the UK has required covid certification.
Fans will have to use the NHS app to demonstrate they have received two doses of the covid vaccine at least 14 days before, or a negative lateral flow test taken within the previous 48 hours.
There will be 22,500 fans for England’s group matches against Croatia, Scotland and the Czech Republic — 25 per cent of Wembley’s capacity — and if the vaccine passport system runs smoothly then it could open the way for larger crowds at the Euro 2020 semi-finals and final which are also being held at the stadium.
On its website, UEFA said: All ticket holders aged 11 and older must present evidence that they are at a low-risk of transmitting COVID-19 to enter Wembley Stadium. Failure to do so will mean you’re unable to attend the match. Please see below for more info.
