The Ever Given was en route to Rotterdam when it was knocked off course.
Multiple rescue boats are working to release the Ever Given following 40-knot winds bashing the ship off course, blocking the entire route north and southbound.
The Suez Canal Authority said eight tug boats were working to move the vessel, but even after 48 hours of attempting to free the boat, it is still blocking the route.
The event has caused quite the pile-up, with dislodging the ship proving extremely difficult, and some 150 boats waiting to pass through the canal.
