Marks and Spencer shared a video on its Instagram of TV presenter Fred Sirieux in one of its stores. Fred encouraged shoppers to buy one of his favourite wines, which costs only £8.
Fred continued: “And I’ll tell you what – it’s on me.
“There you are, enjoy.”
Some Instagram users expressed their laughter and joy in the video’s comments when the customer then asked Fred: “Do you know where the flapjacks are?”
The heart-warming end to the video showed Fred racing the customer’s daughter to the flapjack section of the M&S store, which shoppers believe might be at London Euston station.
M&S customers were delighted with the video, many commenting that they couldn’t wait to go shopping to buy the wine.
“Can’t wait to go to M&S to get that lovely Chilean wine,” said one Instagram user.
Another added: “All Chilean wines are great… Can’t stop drinking them.”
“I wouldn’t mind a free bottle,” another customer said, following their comment with the heart-eyes emoji.
“I wish I could bump into Fred in M&S,” one commenter said.
Another fan added: “This would make my day.”
“Why can’t he turn up at my store?” said another customer.
In the video’s caption, Marks and Spencer described the Classic Chilean Sauvignon Blanc, saying that the wine is “brimming with flavours of passion fruit and ripe citrus”.
The retailer introduced the wine as Fred’s “favourite wine this month”.
“So good, he couldn’t resist popping into store to sell it himself,” M&S added.
