Dan Walker, 43, took the opportunity to praise those individuals who have gone above and beyond during the current pandemic in honour of BBC Breakfast Christmas heroes. But the presenter apologised after he realised an on-screen error.
In view of his 672,000 followers, the broadcaster retweeted a message from the BBC Breakfast official Twitter account.
The post read: “Who has gone above and beyond this year?”
“@mrdanwalker wants to thank the local post office team but who is your Christmas hero? #BBCBreakfastHeroes.”
But the news broadcaster realised there was an error in the accompanying video.

“They are always kind and considerate even though they’ve got parcels up to their ears at the moment.”
He added: “That’s who I would nominate but who would you nominate?”
Elsewhere, Dan recently revealed that he was dropped from talkSport in the early part of his career after he turned up for work late.
“I got sacked by talkSPORT on the third day of the job. There was a terrorist incident in London – a bomb scare,” he explained.
