FIFA 21, Apex Legends and EA Origins DOWN: Server status update for EA games

FIFA 21 appears to be offline, leaving FUT fans unable to login and play online.

The EA server status makes grim reading for fans, who have complained about not being able to access FIFA 21 and the Web App.

Independent website Down Detector has received hundreds of reports that FIFA 21 isn’t working.

The outage tracker monitors social mentions around certain topics to detect when services go down across the world.

The Down Detector outage map shows that the FIFA 21 issues are affecting users in the UK and Europe.

And it’s not just FIFA that’s having problems. It looks like Apex Legends, Battlefield, Madden and other EA games are also down.

Unfortunately, EA Support is yet to make a statement about the outage, so there’s no word on when the games will be back online.

Needless to say, fans have taken to social media to complain about the server status issues.

“Hello, I am trying to enter FIFA 21 ultimate team servers from Athens, Greece, but it does not let me enter,” one fan tweets. “I am on PS4. I have restarted both the game and the console, and checked my WiFi and it is running fine. Are the servers down?”

Another FIFA fan writes: “It’s a shame that servers are down because I’m unable to buy the 12,000 fifa points I planned on getting…. oh well, best spend it on scouts on pes instead.”

“@PlayApex Servers are down? Unable to login on pc or console. Do we have an ETA when it will be back?”

“No ETA announced yet by @EAHelp – no idea when #ApexLegends servers will be back online. All login servers are still down at the moment.”

It’s a big week for FIFA 21, as EA gets ready to release the PS5 and Xbox Series X upgrade.

The PS5 version, for example, will benefit from DualSense support to better mimic the action on screen.

“From last-ditch goal saving blocks to in-off-the-bar screamers, a new DualSense controller on PlayStation 5 with rich and responsive haptic feedback deepens the gameplay experience.

“Sense the impact of shots, passes, and tackles with immersive controller haptics that respond to what happens on the pitch to let you feel the rhythm of the game in your hands.”

Fans can also expect better lighting and animation, as well as more realistic off the ball situations and reactions.

The FIFA 21 next-gen update will be available to download from December 4.
