Twenty20 champions Nottinghamshire have been hit with a suspended points deduction following a spate of on-field misdemeanours on the way to their second title last summer.
Following five fixed penalty offences in as many weeks for their players, the Outlaws faced an obligatory cricket discipline commission hearing, which led to the threat of points being taken and captain Dan Christian suspended for one match dependent on the conduct of the team in 2021.
The decisions were taken via a remote hearing on November 19 chaired by Mike Smith, alongside Paul Parker and Tom Poynton.

An immediate two-point penalty will be imposed in the Royal London Cup and/or the Vitality Blast and/or 16 points in the County Championship, if cricketers playing for Nottinghamshire incur a further two fixed penalty breaches in any competition within the next 12 months.
The exact amount of points to be deducted will be decided by the CDC panel dependent on the seriousness of the indiscretions, and in which competitions they occur.
Furthermore, Australian all-rounder Christian will be banned for one game should any player in a Notts team he is captaining receive a fixed-penalty notice.
In the semi-final Nottinghamshire’s batsmen were warned by the umpires for the use of audible obscenities, forcing Sky Sports to apologise live on air. This might have contributed to the sanction, according to Cricinfo.
During their group-stage defeat by Leicestershire at Grace Road, Steven Mullaney was warned for simulating a sliding stop in the outfield.
