Ivanka Trump ‘has ABANDONED her father President Trump's bid to overturn US election’

The Republican President is refusing to concede following his Democrat rival Joe Biden’s victory in the election on November 3 and has made repeated allegations of fraud without providing evidence. Mr Trump has launched a series of lawsuits in a desperate attempt to overturn the result.

But most of his closest advisers have reportedly distanced themselves from his legal action.

They include his daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner who do not believe it will work, Axios reported.

In the latest blow to Mr Trump, a judge in Pennsylvania dismissed his bid to block the state from certifying its election results.

Judge Brann said his “court has been presented with strained legal arguments without merit and speculative accusations”.

He added: “This claim, like Frankenstein’s Monster, has been haphazardly stitched together.”

It comes as some of the President’s fellow Republicans are speaking out against him.

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, who has served as an adviser to Mr Trump, called his legal team a “national embarrassment.”

“Frankly I’m embarrassed that more people in the party aren’t speaking up.”

Republican Senator Kevin Cramer told NBC’s Meet the Press that the start of the presidential transition process is overdue.

Mr Biden is due to take office on January 20.

Mr Biden’s choice as White House chief of staff, Ron Klain, has urged that the Trump administration formally recognise his victory for the transition process.

Referring to the head of federal agency the General Services Administration (GSA) Emily Murphy, Mr Klain told ABC’s This Week: “I hope that the administrator of the GSA will do her job.

“A record number of Americans rejected the Trump presidency, and since then Donald Trump’s been rejecting democracy.”
