Bournemouth are set to make a move for Scott Parker should Fulham fail to beat Brentford in the Championship play-off final.

According to The Sun, the Cherries want to appoint Eddie Howe’s successor ready for pre-season training which starts on August 17.

It is claimed that Parker is a candidate for the job at Bournemouth due to his relationship with Harry Arter, who the hierarchy at the Vitality Stadium are close to.

Arter is currently playing under Parker at Fulham on loan from Bournemouth and is the former Chelsea midfielder’s brother-in-law.

It is also stated that Parker has a good understanding with Bournemouth’s technical director Richard Hughes.

Bournemouth will, however, have to look elsewhere should Fulham beat Brentford on Tuesday night at Wembley and secure their spot in next season’s Premier League.
