Royal recipe: How to make Meghan Markle's favourite drink

Meghan Markle, 38, was born and raised in LA and revealed a soft spot for California’s healthy eating scene in her old lifestyle blog the Tig. Now Meghan has settled back in Hollywood she may have returned to some of her old eating habits including these delicious looking smoothies.

While Meghan closed her blog The Tig ahead of marrying Prince Harry some of the delicious recipes she shared are still available on the website’s archive.

Introducing the coconut chai smoothie recipe Meghan wrote: “With fresh ginger, spices, and even some protein if you please, this incredibly easy-to-make treat is the perfect afternoon satisfier or meal on the go.”

Meghan is known to be a yoga bunny and these protein-packed smoothies are an excellent post-workout treat.

The recipe is from nutritionist and wellness coach Jennie Miremadi who collaborated with Meghan on several Tig posts.

Directions

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.

Slice the avocados in half, and take out the pit.

Scoop out about two tablespoons of flesh from the centre of the avocado, just enough so the egg will fit snugly in the centre.

Place the avocados in a small baking dish.

Do your best to make sure they fit tightly.

Crack an egg into each avocado half.

Try your best to crack the yolk in first, then let the egg whites spill in to fill up the rest of the shell.

Place in the oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.

Cooking time will depend on the size of your eggs and avocados.

Just make sure the egg whites have enough time to set.

Remove from oven, then season with pepper, chives, and garnish of your choice.
