Resident Evil 8 is expected to get announced by Capcom today, and fans have been given an early taster of what to expect from the next entry in the RE series. Reliable survival horror leaker AestheticGamer (aka Dusk Golem) has been dropping plenty of hints about what’s in store for Resident Evil fans. Ever since the start of this year rumours have been swirling around about Resident Evil 8, with this stepping up a notch ahead of today’s major PS5 reveal event.
And it looks like RE fans could today see what Capcom has in store for the series next after the radical departure of Resident Evil 7.
AestheticGamer has said they are 99 per cent sure that Resident Evil 8 will be appearing at the PS5 reveal event.
They recently tweeted: “I’m like 99% sure now RE8 is at the PS5 reveal event. As others noticed, all the RE games went on sale yesterday, & RE7 in particular went on the deepest discount it’s EVER had by a long shot, around the same time the PS5 reveal event was supposed to happen yesterday. So yeah.”
Later clarifying the significance of this Dusk Golem tweeted: “The RE game’s and how they go in sale 100% happen with game reveals. The same thing happened when RE7, RE2 & RE3 were revealed.

If Resident Evil 8 does get announced at today’s big PS5 reveal event then it would be in keeping with previous Capcom announcements for the series.
Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 7 have all been announced at PlayStation events.
RE7 and RE2 were unveiled at Sony E3 conferences while RE3 was revealed during a State of Play broadcast.
Resident Evil 8 is expected to continue the first-person perspective seen in RE7, and will see Ethan return as the main playable character.
AestheticGamer has said RE8 will be the “darkest” and “most gruesome” game in the entire series.
While other reports have claimed the game will be called Resident Evil 8 Village, feature snow environments and feature new wolf creatures.
There are also meant to be a number of controversial elements to RE8 that make the game “dark as f***”.
Speaking about RE8 previously, AestheticGamer tweeted: “I don’t know much on Silent Hill I haven’t shared, but its apparently its revealed soon so I’m looking forward to it. I still believe it from what I was shown, but I do have a healthy skeptic in me.
“RE8 I’m excited for the reveal, it’s by far the darkest & most gruesome RE yet.”
They also added: “Get ready for some of the most disturbing enemy designs in the RE series.”
