Lorraine Kelly says daughter is 'self-isolating' after falling ill amid coronavirus fears

ITV host Lorraine Kelly, 60, said her husband Steve is flying out to see their 24-year-old daughter Rosie after she developed a cold in Singapore, where she is currently living. There are currently around 98 coronavirus cases in the Asian country.

The presenter discussed her daughter’s illness on her show this morning in a conversation with the show’s resident health expert Dr Hilary Jones.

She said: “My daughter’s self-isolated because she’s got a bit of a cold.

“My husband has sent me a few pictures from Heathrow as he’s going over to see Rosie in Singapore. It was absolutely dead.”

The host went on to say her spouse also joked with the check-in desk staff about the lack of people in the airport.

Elsewhere, Lorraine opened up about her own health woes in an abstract from her book Shine in December.

Discussing her menopause, she said: “The menopause crept up on me, to be honest. It probably started when I was around 54 and it got gradually worse and worse, until one day it was unbearable.

“I just wasn’t coping or enjoying life and was constantly knackered, but I simply couldn’t understand why.

Opening up on the point she learned of her menopause, she added: “The turning point came on a weekend away with Steve in Spain, which should have been amazing but, like everything else at that time, I just couldn’t enjoy it.
