This year marks the 50th anniversary of Freddie Mercury’s band Queen and drummer Roger Taylor has released a 2020 New Year message for fans.
The 70-year-old said: “Hi everybody out there in Queen Land and I hope you’re enjoying the Taylored of London stuff.
“Really appreciate all your pictures and comments etc
“It’s nice to have some feedback.”
Taylor continued: “And I just want to wish everyone a really great 2020. Happy New Year, have fun!

Queen and Adam Lambert continue their Rhapsody Tour with dates in Korea and Japan from January 18.

The 72-year-old added: “I received a CBE some years ago. It doesn’t change your life very much apart from giving you some letters to put after your name in correspondence !
“The award which really moves you to a different place in Society is when they make you a LORD – which entitles you (or requires you) to sit in the a House of Lords, participating in the passing of British laws and policies.
“So there ya go ! Who decides these things ?
“Well, it’s all done quietly behind closed doors by a small committee – but most awards have been lobbied for, by friends and colleagues who feel the person deserves recognition!!!”
Sadly, Freddie Mercury didn’t receive such a recognition before his untimely death in 1991.
But had he lived, who knows how the Queen singer would have been recognised by the Royal Family?
Similarly, John Deacon isn’t in the Order either, but has been retired from public life since leaving Queen in 1997.
The bassist didn’t see the point in “carrying on” after Freddie’s death, admitting, “it is impossible to replace” him.
