Vikings season 6: Freydis star teases new role as she spills all on 'awkward' first day

In season five, Freydis (played by Alicia Agneson) was viciously murdered by her husband Ivar The Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen). However, in teaser clips for the current and final season, it seems the star will return to the show in a different role and Vikings fans can expect to see a lot more of her. While fans await to find out how the History Channel hit will conclude, Alicia shared an embarrassing moment from her first day on set.

During a fan Q&A on HBO Nordic’s Instagram account, the actress spoke about her time on the show and hinted at her involvement in the final season.

When asked what it was like joining the hit show, the Vikings star said: “Mental, absolutely mental I’m surprised I’m still alive to be honest.

“It’s insane, Vikings was my favourite TV series before I did my first audition.”

But, the actress revealed her first day on the show was “awkward” and described one particular moment she remembers from that day.

She continued: “I remember being sat in my makeup chair and Alexander Ludwig was sat next to me and was like, ‘What’s up new girl? and I was like, ‘yeah, what’s up with you?’”

“Yeah really awkward but it was a very interesting day.”

Freydis was brutally killed by her own husband in the last season and Alicia confessed her death was her favourite scene to film.

“With a death scene, you don’t know beforehand what it’s going to be,” she explained.

However the actress remained tight-lipped as to the nature of her return but did warn fans to expect a lot of her.

“I can’t really tell,” Alicia said. “But you will be seeing her pretty much throughout the whole of season six.”

Elsewhere, Vikings fans have been teased on how Lagertha’s (Katheryn Winnick) story will come to an end.

In an interview with gamespot.com, writer Michael Hirst said: “You can imagine that she might want to retire, that she might have had just about a belly full of battles and death.

“She’s been fighting since she was very young. Lots of things have happened in her private life and her public life.

“There’s a sense in which to retire would be a sensible thing to do.”

He added: “On the other hand, of course, a famous shieldmaiden can’t suddenly become un-historic.

“In a world in which fame meant so much–I don’t mean celebrity. I mean fame for actually having done real things–you simply can’t disappear.”
