Nintendo Switch gamers have plenty of big games coming to the handheld console, and one of the biggest will be Zelda Breath of the Wild 2.
Still, without a release date, there are rumours is could launch in 2020, although this would be a surprisingly quick turnaround.
For now, fans are having to rely on reports and rumours, some of which have hinted that the new Legend of Zelda game will contain more multiplayer elements.
But for all the unofficial news surrounding the game, we don’t know when it will hit shelves, or what new features it will boast.
What we do know is that a game very much like BOTW is getting primed for release on PS4.
This rival game is seen as very much a Zelda-inspired title that will be launching on the PlayStation platform.
And it wasn’t that long ago that we found out that Genshin Impact would be launching on the PlayStation platform after the PC version arrives in 2020.
This means that a big Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 rival could launch before the Nintendo Switch game launches.
For those who might not have heard about it, Genshin Impact is an open-world action game set in the fantasy world called “Teyvat”.
Its gameplay has been seen as very similar to that of Zelda Breath of the Wild, offering players a freely explorable world.
But it will also boast multiple playable characters and an in-depth elemental combo-based combat system.
“This first ever partnership between miHoYo and PlayStation will let us bring Genshin Impact to the broad community of console players, while also welcome players from other platforms to PlayStation,” said Wei Liu, co-founder of miHoYo, during PlayStation Online Showcase in China.
“We will be continuing to optimise the PlayStation version of the game to ensure a smooth gameplay experience and adding exclusive content to the platform. We look forward to working with PlayStation and listening to feedback from PlayStation players to help us further improve Genshin Impact.”
“Genshin Impact is currently under development for iOS, Android, PC and PlayStation platforms, the releasing date is scheduled in 2020.”
And now new details have been shared about the world players will be able to explore.
Genshin Impact will have lots of different locations to explore, including the City of Mondstadt, which sounds like it will include some tough battles outside its walls.
A new update from the development team in China reveals that Dragons will be seen around the City, which could make for some challenging encounters.
“The City of Freedom, the Crown of the North, the Romantic City of Pastorals — these are names heralded by poets and artists alike for the renowned city of Mondstadt.
“I am devoted to poetry, music, wine, and festivities as much as the next bard; they are literally and metaphorically the sustenance of my life. Therefore, just as any bard would be, I am drawn to Mondstadt like a moth to a flame.
“What caught my attention recently was the sightings of a dragon near Mondstadt. This has had the city folk wrapped in rumours and speculations, myself included.
“Maybe my curiosity got the better of me, or perhaps I too have the blood of an adventurer inside of me, for I am determined to venture forth to the City of Freedom that I have yearned for so long.”
