So it is no surprise Prince William’s wife is steering the revival of an accessory many believed was dead – the headband.
The royal mum-of-three has shown headbands aren’t just for schoolgirls or 50’s housewives but are a must-have fashion item.
Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, 37, has helped revive an accessory previously favoured by fellow royal Grace Kelly.
While headbands have traditionally had frumpy connotations, Kate has wowed in brightly coloured bands at several royal occasions.
Far from making her look infantile, they add a chic touch to all of her outfits.

Armistice Day, 2018
Perhaps Kate’s most striking headband yet was the large black velvet one she wore to an Armistice Day service at Westminster Abbey last November.
The eye-catching Alice band complimented the velvet collars on her forest green dress coat.
