Liverpool defender Andy Robertson reveals what his side must do to win the Premier League

Liverpool currently top the Premier League after six games, leading Manchester City by five points.

The Reds have made a blistering start, and are the only team to have won every game thus far.

After coming so close last season – finishing second despite losing just one game – Liverpool are desperate to win their first Premier League crown.

But Robertson joked with ESPN FC’s Alexis Nunes that all the Reds need to do to win the title is finish above the Citizens.

“I don’t think it’s a two-horse race,” Robertson said.

“I think teams have started differently this season, but it’s a long season, nothing is won in September.

“Who knows who’ll be up there? Tottenham are just getting going, you’ve got Arsenal, Man Utd have had their struggles but will get going, Chelsea, teams like that.

“So I don’t think it’s a two-horse race.

“What I will say is that I think if you finish above Man City, you’ve got a hell of a chance of winning the Premier League title.

“And that has to be our aim, because Man City are a fantastic team, and if you beat them in the season you’ll be crowned champions. That’s our aim.”

Robertson also insisted that despite having made such a strong start, he and his team-mates won’t be looking at the league table any time soon.

He stated that with 32 games remaining, there would be no point in taking too much interest in where they currently sit in the table.

“We’re top now but we’re only six games in,” he continued.

“We haven’t really glanced at the table just now because it can change in one game at the start of the season.

”You only look at the table around Christmas-time.”
